The Mattole Restoration Council offers several services to landowners and residents of the Mattole watershed through its different programs. Please contact the program coordinators for more information.

Library and Technological Assistance: The Mattole Watershed Resource Center offers landowners and residents a watershed resource library, fact sheets, and technological assistance for watershed-related projects. The center also offers technological assistance for private projects on a fee-for-service basis. Petrolia office hours are Tuesday through Thursday, 10am-3pm or by appointment. For more information, please email us at mrc@mattole.org

Map Making and GPS Services: The GIS Program offers customized maps of any location within the Mattole watershed and GPS services. Maps are made to order in 2-3 weeks, and can be produced for as little as $30. For more information, please email us at gis@mattole.org

Tree Planting: The Reforestation Program offers native Douglas-fir planting on previously forested private lands, from 1,000 to 30,000 trees. Trees cost $1.10 each, with an annual order placed in January. In addition, we can offer advice on appropriate species and planting techniques. COMING SOON: Mattole native hardwood tree seedlings.

Notification of New Commercial Timber Harvest Plans: The Forest Practices Review Program can notify you or planned Timber Harvest Plans anywhere in the Mattole watershed so you can comment or simply be informed. To keep up to date, please email Ali Freedlund at ali@mattole.org

Sediment Inventory : The Good Roads, Clear Creeks program helps landowners identify and fix road-related erosion problems at little or no cost. GRCC program staff are available for consultation on your road issues; this is a free service to Mattole landowners. For more information, please email us at goodroads@mattole.org

We make every effort to assist landowners in sustainable management of their lands for the economic and ecological health of the Mattole watershed. If there is a service or product that you think would be useful, please give us a call at (707) 629-3514.
