4-Day Precipitation Forecast Find out how bad that storm is going to be. Forecast is given in five-day intervals on a United States map. It has been rather accurate.

PARTNER and FRIEND ORGANIZATIONS










Mattole Salmon Group A local non-profit grassroots organization that does research, operates a hatchbox and rescue rearing program, and implements restoration projects.
Sanctuary Forest Inc. A Whitethorn based land trust has preserved approximately 3,000 acres of Mattole old-growth forest and holds conservation easements on approximately 10,000 acres.
Middle Mattole Conservancy MMC does restoration and conservation projects in the Middle Mattole. They are currently developing a Cooperative Management Plan for the Gilham Butte area. They have a resource center and have reforested large portions of Middle Creek.
AmeriCorps Watershed Stewards Project The mission of the AmeriCorps Watershed Stewards Project is to conserve, restore, and sustain anadromous watersheds for future generations through education and high quality scientific practices.
The Redwood Community Action Agency Natural Resources Services Natural Resources Services (NRS) develops and implements projects which help improve the quality of North Coast natural resources and communities. We believe that in doing so, we help enhance the health of our economy and environment.
The Trees Foundation Trees Foundation is a resource for local conservation non-profits.
Institute for Fisheries Research Based out of San Francisco, this fish resource organization establishes alliances among fishing men and women and government agencies in order to protect and restore fish habitat.
Friends of the Eel Read about what's new and happening on the neighboring Eel River watershed.
Mattole Self-Suffiencey Project The Mattole Self-Sufficiency Project initiates, promotes, and/or encourages projects designed to promote a sustainable society here in the Mattole Valley. We compete with nobody, we cooperate for everybody. Diversity of thought is encouraged.

Klamath Resource Information System (KRIS) Mattole

 

The KRIS Mattole System pulls together maps, data tables, charts, photographs and bibliographic materials into an easy-to-use, PC-based computer program. This KRIS version, which was built to support the North Coast Watershed Assessment Program, provides agencies, private land owners and citizens with data relevant to fisheries and water quality in a useful form for adaptive management. KRIS Mattole is available free by calling CDF at (916) 227-2652.
REGIONAL AGENCY OFFICES









California DFG Department of Fish and Game's purpose is to conserve fishery resources and wildlife. DFG continues to fund stream and fish related projects in the Mattole.
North Coast Regional Water Quality Control Board NCWQCB is currently funding two MRC Good Roads, Clear Creeks Projects. They are also developing the Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) for the Mattole River.
California Coastal Conservancy The California Coastal Conservancy has long been involved in restoration and conservation projects in the Mattole and is a lead partner in the Mattole River and Range Partnership.
California Coastal Commission The California Coastal Commission manages coastal resources, and upholds the California Coastal Act. There is a regional office in Eureka.
Bureau of Land Management Arcata Field Office The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is one of the largest Mattole landowners, managing the King Range National Conservation Area. The Arcata Field Office has information about Mattole BLM lands.
King Range National Conservation Area (BLM) The King Range, located on the western side of the Mattole watershed, includes the Lost Coast. This site includes campground information and a King Range map.
California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection CDF runs two field fire stations during the fire season in the Mattole. Visit the CDF site for information about fire prevention.
California Association of Resource Conservation Districts RCD's offer incentives for conservation easements and wildlife protection.
NOAA National Marine Fisheries Service This is the NOAA National Marine Fisheries Service Law Enforcement web site anyone with Endangered Species Act salmon/steelhead and or marine mammal concerns would be able use this site to contact NOAA National Marine Fisheries Service Law Enforcement.
Humboldt Redwoods State Park

Adjacent to the Mattole watershed, this world-class redwood park is worth a visit.

SALMON and STEELHEAD
For the Sake of the Salmon (SOS) A regional salmon support coalition bringing together a wide range of state, local, and recreational interests.
Salmonid Restoration Federation A group that provides information about salmon restoration and hosts an annual conference.
Pacific Salmon A site full of salmon related resources. Includes links, videos, keywords, ways to search for salmon resources, books, etc. Geared for children, but great for adults, too.

Sudden Oak Death Syndrome Provides information, including identification guides with color photographs. Sudden Oak Death was recently discovered in Southern Humboldt County.
