Reforestation MRC begins planting hardwoods For the past twenty years, the MRC rReforestation pProgram has planted Nnative Douglas- fir in previously logged areas previously logged, slides, road removal projectss, blowdowns, and washouts. Mattole residents have planted hundreds of thousands of seedlings, many of whom have now matured. (residents as well as trees).

Tree Plant Report This year MRC planted 17,000 native Douglas Fir Trees in the Mattole. Working with locals in each region, we were privileged to reforest road removal projects and slides in; Lower Mill Creek, South Fork Bear Creek, and the Middle Mattole area. Evidence of past restoration efforts by the landowners was encouraging.

Life of a tree planter This year, in cooperation with the Bureau of Land Management, HearthSong, and Klutz Press, the Mattole Restoration Council planted 10,000 trees grown from native seed.
