Sudden Oak Death susceptible species

As of this writing, Sudden Oak Death (Phytopthera ramorum) has been found in 16 native California plant species. These include three true oaks and tanoak. All of these species except the Shreve oak are found in the Mattole.

1. tanoak (Lithocarpus densiflorus)
2. black oak (Quercus kelloggii)
3. coast live oak (Quercus agrifolia)
4. Shreve oak (Quercus shrevei)
5. California bay laurel (Umbellularia californica)
6. California buckeye (Aesculus californica)
7. rhododendron (Rhododendron spp.)
8. Ccalifornia huckleberry (Vaccinium ovatum)
9. manzanita (Arctostaphylos spp.)
10. madrone (Arbutus menziesii)
11. toyon (Heteromeles arbutifolia)
12. coffee berry (Rhamnus californica)
13. Douglas-fir (Pseudotsuga menziesii)
14. redwood (Sequoia sempervirens)
15. big leaf maple (Acer macrophyllum)
16. California honeysuckle (Lonicera hispidula)
