Put your pen to the paper for the Mattole and you could not only be published in the next newsletter, but be awarded a $50 bill! You must be under the age of 18 and submit one or more poems that reflect an aspect of growing up in the Mattole. A winning poem will be chosen, the author awarded $50 and that poem will appear in print in our next Mattole Restoration Newsletter. Send all entries to the MRC Poetry Contest, PO Box 160, Petrolia, CA 95558. Entries must be received by April 1, 2002, and all poems become property of the MRC once submitted.
