The Mattole Restoration Council collaborates with groups to work towards our goals of watershed restoration and health for the salmon and all. Please visit their sites by clicking on the links below.

Mattole Salmon Group
The Mattole Salmon Group was formed in 1980 by local citizens who were concerned with declining salmon populations in the Mattole River. They were the first watershed-wide, entirely citizen-run effort in the Pacific Northwest to begin restoring native salmon runs. Programs include Habitat Restoration, Monitoring and Research, and a Native Hatchbox Rescue Rearing Program.

Middle Mattole Conservancy
The mission of the Middle Mattole Conservancy is to encourage and provide for the responsible stewardship of our lands and waterways through outreach, education and restoration and to aid in the recovery of our lands and enhance the future connectivity for many rare, threatened and endangered species that inhabit Redwoods State Park and Gilham Butte.

Mill Creek Watershed Conservancy
Mill Creek Watershed Conservancy was formed for the preservation and ressstoration of forest and grassland within the Mill Creek Watershed and other tributaries of the Mattole River in southern Humboldt and northern Mendocino counties.

Sanctuary Forest
Sanctuary Forest's purpose is to conserve land in the Mattole River watershed and surrounding area for: conservation of natural resources, protection of genetic sources for native plant and animal life, preservation of mature forests, education in principals of ecology, non-consumptive recreation and preservation of spiritual and aesthetic values.

Lower Mattole Fire Safe Council
The Lower Mattole Fire Safe Council's mission is to
reduce risks and minimize damage to life, property, and the environment from wildfire, by coordinating efforts to fund and implement fire-safe education and projects in the Lower Mattole Valley.
